The U.S. Small Business Administration opened a business recovery center in Birmingham’s Innovation Depot Thursday to help businesses affected by the storms, tornadoes, high winds and flooding that began on April 15.

Businesses and private nonprofit organizations can borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory and other business assets. SBA also offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans to help small businesses and nonprofit organizations meet working capital needs.

The business recovery center is located in the Small Business Development Center office of Innovation Depot at 1500 First Ave. North, suite R118. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.
